Who we are

Kevin Kenan is K2 Digital Defense's founder and principal consultant. The author of Cryptography in the Database and former senior manager in Symantec's Information Security department, Kevin's experience includes professional roles in software and database development, cryptosystem design and implementation, application and database security, security architecture, and policy and process development.

While Kevin's technical expertise provides a solid foundation, his success at framing security as a business enabler depends equally on his professional, results-oriented attitude. Whether working at the command-line or presenting in the boardroom, integrity, an appreciation of the nuances of achieving business goals, and a dash of humor are all part of Kevin's focus on delivering solutions that reduce the risks that matter.

Kevin is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). He also holds certifications in COBiT and ITIL. Kevin graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Mathematics and a minor in Economics.
